Yasmin started playing tennis when she was 8 years old at Gezira Sporting Club in Cairo, Egypt.  As a teenager, she played at the Nick Bolletierri Tennis Academy in Florida where she spent three summers training.  She started competing in ITF tournaments where she traveled and played in Syria, Lebanon, Cyprus, Morocco, Tunisia, Nigeria, Togo, and Ghana.  By the time she was 18, she was ranked 120 in the world and #1 in Egypt in the 18 and under class.  In 2000, she started to play college tennis.  Yasmin played one year at Georgia Brenau University and three years at California State University in Sacramento where she helped lead the team to three Big Sky Conference championships.  In 2005, she was ranked #1 in New England.  Her previous tennis professional experience includes teaching at the Middlebury Racquet Club, Beaver Brook Racquet Club and Ridgewood Country Club in Connecticut.
